About this card

RuneScape is the long-running fantasy MMO from Jagex (Cambridge, UK), live since 2001 and still updating in two parallel clients on the same Jagex account. RuneScape 3 (RS3, runescape.com) is the modern continuously-updated client — graphical engine NXT, ability-bar combat, hundreds of post-2013 quests, the Invention skill, Archaeology. Old School RuneScape (OSRS, oldschool.runescape.com) is the 2007-era separate client preserving the classic tick-based combat and slower content cadence — same Jagex login, same prepaid card, distinct game world.

The Jagex Game Card credits a wallet on your Jagex account. From there you spend on three things. Membership — 1 month ≈ $13.99, 3 months ≈ $35.99, 12 months ≈ $109.99 — unlocks members-only content on both RS3 and OSRS at the same time (members-only quests, skills, regions, PvP). RuneCoins — cosmetics in Solomon's Store (RS3 outfits, pets, animation overrides), name changes, character customisation. Bonds — in-game tradeable items you can sell on the Grand Exchange for GP, redeem for membership days, or convert to RuneCoins; Old School Bonds are a separate market on OSRS but funded from the same wallet.

Redemption is one flow. Sign in at store.jagex.com with your Jagex account, open "Add funds" or "Redeem code", paste the prepaid code, the wallet balance goes up immediately. From there click Membership, RuneCoins or Bonds and the wallet balance settles the purchase. The card is fixed to its billing currency — a USD card credits a USD wallet, a EUR card credits EUR — but the membership it buys is region-priced on the same account. Pick the variant matching your store ccy preference.

Four-currency flexibility: USD, EUR, GBP (native to Jagex — Jagex is UK-based), AUD. We email the prepaid code in about 11 minutes after your crypto transaction confirms — no Jagex login from us, no name, no ID, just an email for delivery. Privacy angle: no card statement listing "Jagex" or "RuneScape" — useful for adult players on shared family payment methods, no IP/email tied to a bank, and Bonds bought via the prepaid card are a fully Jagex-sanctioned funding path (RWT-free, no real-world-trading flag risk). Crypto-rail savings: 1.5 % off USD/EUR/GBP retail, 2.0 % off AUD.

What you get

  • A claim code, delivered by email
  • A private order page (14-day access)
  • Re-issue or full refund if the code fails
  • No RuneScape login or ID required

Asked & answered

Specifics for RuneScape cards. For general crypto-payment questions, see the site FAQ.

Does this card work for both RuneScape 3 and Old School RuneScape (OSRS)?

Yes — one card, both games. The Jagex Game Card credits funds to your Jagex account wallet, and that single account is the login for both RuneScape 3 (the continuously-updated modern client at runescape.com) and Old School RuneScape (the 2007-era separate client at oldschool.runescape.com). Membership purchased with the card unlocks members-only content on both games at the same time. Bonds are game-specific (an RS3 Bond converts to OSRS via the in-game wallet but exists as separate items), but the underlying funding pool is shared.

What can I buy with the wallet — only Membership, or also RuneCoins and Bonds?

Three buckets. (1) Membership: 1 month ≈ $13.99, 3 months ≈ $35.99, 12 months ≈ $109.99 (USD prices on store.jagex.com — region-priced in EUR/GBP/AUD), unlocks members-only quests, skills, areas and PvP across both RS3 and OSRS. (2) RuneCoins: cosmetics in Solomon's Store (RS3), name changes, character customisation, utility consumables. (3) Bonds: in-game tradeable items you can sell on the Grand Exchange for GP, redeem for membership days, or convert to RuneCoins. Old School Bonds are a separate market on OSRS but bought from the same wallet.

How long is the prepaid balance valid?

The unredeemed voucher code does not expire at Jagex (the printed expiry on physical retail cards historically referred to retail-channel inventory turnover, not the code itself). Once the code is redeemed onto a Jagex account, the balance has no expiry — it sits in the wallet until you spend it on Membership, RuneCoins or Bonds. There is no monthly fee, no decay, no inactivity timeout on a Jagex wallet balance.

Can I split the card across multiple purchases?

Yes. Once redeemed, the card's value is just credit on your Jagex wallet. You can split a $100 USD card across (e.g.) 1 month membership ($13.99), a RuneCoins pack ($24.99), and leave the remainder for a future Bond. The wallet keeps the leftover balance available indefinitely. There is no requirement to spend the full face value in one transaction.

Does the recipient need a Jagex account already?

They need a free Jagex account, but creating one takes 30 seconds at account.jagex.com — email + password, no payment method on file, no ID. The same Jagex account works for RS3 and OSRS. If the recipient is migrating from a legacy "RuneScape" login (pre-2023 username/email login), Jagex prompts them to convert it to a Jagex account on first sign-in, then the wallet redemption flow on store.jagex.com works normally.

Can a US-bought card be used by an EU player?

The card is fixed to its billing currency — a USD card credits a USD wallet, a EUR card credits a EUR wallet on the same Jagex account. The wallet balance is not converted between currencies. However, store.jagex.com sells Membership, RuneCoins and Bonds in multiple currencies on the same account, and a Jagex account can hold balances in different ccies side-by-side. So a US-bought card redeemed by an EU player will fund their USD-priced purchases on store.jagex.com — they just see USD pricing for that flow. For native EUR pricing, pick the EUR variant.

What if my code does not work?

Open your order page (link in the delivery email) within 14 days. We re-issue a fresh code or refund in your original coin — no forms, no proof of redemption attempt. Common causes: typo on a similar-looking character (B vs 8, O vs 0, I vs 1) — codes are case-insensitive but every character matters. Less common: redeeming a USD card while logged into a regional store front other than US (switch the store ccy on store.jagex.com header to match the card before pasting).

Why pay for a RuneScape card in crypto instead of a credit card?

Three reasons. No "Jagex" line item on a card statement — useful for adult players still on a shared family payment method, or anyone who prefers their gaming spend not appear on a partner / employer expense card. No IP/email tied to a bank — Jagex's default checkout binds your bank card to the Jagex account fingerprint; a prepaid code redeemed once leaves no payment-method linkage. RWT-free funding — buying Bonds with the prepaid card is a fully Jagex-sanctioned funding path (no risk of a real-world-trading flag, unlike third-party gold sites). We pass crypto-rail savings back as 1.5–2.0 % off retail.
