Can the owner turn my booking down?

Yes. Unless a listing is set to instant booking, you send a request and the owner accepts or declines it — they are a private individual with their own calendar, not a rental desk. Nothing is committed to that trip until they accept, and a declined request leaves your balance untouched and available for the next vehicle you find.

Does it work outside the United States?
