About this card

NordLocker is Nord Security's end-to-end encrypted cloud storage product — a sibling to NordVPN, NordPass and NordLayer, run by the same Vilnius engineering team (Tefincom S.A., Panama-registered for jurisdiction). Launched in 2019, NordLocker uses a strict zero-knowledge architecture: every file is encrypted client-side with XChaCha20, AES256-GCM, and EC-P521 before it ever reaches NordLocker's servers. Only the user holds the master password; the servers themselves cannot decrypt your data, even when compelled. Where NordVPN handles your network layer, NordLocker handles your storage layer — same family, same threat model.

The card delivers a USD wallet credit that you apply at nordlocker.com → Account → Billing. The credit sits as a positive balance on your account and burns down as renewals charge against it. It applies to any paid plan tier: Personal Plus (500 GB cloud + unlimited local file encryption, roughly $2.99–$3.99/mo on annual billing), Personal Premium (2 TB cloud, roughly $8.99–$14.99/mo), or Business per-seat tiers if redeemed on a workspace. The Free tier (3 GB cloud + unlimited local encryption) does not need this card. Multiple top-ups stack — redeem several in a row to bank a longer runway.

The people who care about end-to-end encrypted cloud storage usually also care about not putting an "encrypted-cloud-service" line on a card statement. Bank-rail payment defeats half the threat model: your bank knows the subscription exists, when you renew, and roughly what tier (so roughly how much capacity you have). Paying in Bitcoin or Monero closes that gap — the funding source matches the privacy posture of the product itself. Zero-knowledge storage funded over a non-KYC crypto rail is the cleanest commercially-available end-to-end encrypted cloud setup. We pass the crypto-rail savings back as up to 2 % off retail.

Redemption: log in to nordlocker.com → Account → Add credit / apply gift code → enter the code → balance applies. The code is a bearer token: no signup, no identity check, no card on file required to redeem (a fresh account can fund its first subscription directly from this credit). Forward the code over Signal, paper, whatever — whoever holds it can apply it. Once on the account, the balance has no expiry; renewals (monthly or annual) charge against it before any card on file is touched.

What you get

  • A claim code, delivered by email
  • A private order page (14-day access)
  • Re-issue or full refund if the code fails
  • No NordLocker login or ID required

Asked & answered

Specifics for NordLocker cards. For general crypto-payment questions, see the site FAQ.

Is this gift card for NordVPN or NordLocker?

This is the NordLocker card — Nord Security's end-to-end encrypted cloud storage product. NordLocker is a sibling product to NordVPN, NordPass and NordLayer (all run by the same Vilnius engineering team, Tefincom S.A. Panama parent). If you wanted to extend a VPN subscription, look for the NordVPN card instead — the activation paths are different (NordAccount → Subscriptions → Redeem for VPN, vs. NordLocker → Account → Add credit for cloud storage). The codes are not interchangeable between products.

Which NordLocker plan does this card work on?

The wallet credit applies to any paid NordLocker tier at the prevailing retail rate: Personal Plus (500 GB cloud + unlimited local file encryption, ~$2.99–$3.99/mo on annual billing) or Personal Premium (2 TB cloud, ~$8.99–$14.99/mo). It also works on Business per-seat tiers if you redeem on a Business workspace. The Free tier (3 GB cloud + unlimited local encryption) does not need this card — it is gratis already. The wallet does not lock you to a single tier; you can upgrade or downgrade and the balance simply applies to whatever you renew.

Can I use it for a renewal of an existing NordLocker subscription?

Yes — that is the most common use case. Sign in to nordlocker.comAccount → Billing → apply the wallet code. The credit lands as a positive balance, and the next renewal (monthly or annual) is paid out of it automatically before any card on file is charged. If your subscription is currently expired or paused, applying the credit reactivates it forward from the redemption date. The card also works to start a brand-new subscription on a fresh account with no card on file.

What is "zero-knowledge" — and does it affect how I redeem?

NordLocker uses a zero-knowledge architecture: your files are encrypted client-side with XChaCha20, AES256-GCM, and EC-P521 before they ever leave your device. Only you hold the master password — NordLocker servers cannot decrypt your data, even if compelled. Redemption itself is unaffected: the wallet code is a billing-side bearer token (not file-encryption material). It applies to your account balance the same way for any user. Crucially, NordLocker does not need to know what you store to bill you.

Does the card expire?

The wallet code itself is valid 12 months from issue (printed on the delivery email). Once you apply it to a NordLocker account, the resulting balance has no expiry — it sits on the account indefinitely and burns down as renewals charge against it. Multiple top-ups stack: redeem several cards in a row to bank a longer runway. Unused balance is non-refundable to crypto once redeemed (NordLocker billing terms apply), so size the top-up to your plan tier.

Can I gift it forward to someone else?

Yes — the wallet code is a bearer token. Whoever holds the code can redeem it on any NordLocker account; no signup or identity check is required before the code is applied. Send the code over Signal, Session, paper, whatever. The recipient does not need to have ever heard of you (or of us). This makes the card a clean way to fund a privacy-tooling stack for someone without putting "ENCRYPTED CLOUD SERVICE" on a card statement that ties back to either of you.

What if the code does not work?

Open your order page (link in the delivery email) within 14 days and we re-issue a fresh code or refund in your original coin at the rate at time of order. Most failures are typos in the code (it is case-sensitive); second most common is attempting to redeem on a still-unverified email account — verify the email at nordlocker.com first, then redeem. After 14 days, support is best-effort: NordLocker holds the wallet ledger, not us.

Why pay for encrypted cloud storage in crypto?

The whole reason to use end-to-end encrypted cloud storage is leaving no readable trail of what you store. Paying with a card defeats half the threat model — your bank knows you have an encrypted-cloud subscription, when you renewed, and roughly what tier (so roughly how much capacity you have). Paying in Bitcoin or Monero closes that loop: the funding source matches the privacy posture of the product itself. Zero-knowledge storage funded over a non-KYC rail is the cleanest commercially-available end-to-end encrypted cloud setup. We pass the crypto-rail savings back as up to 2 % off retail.
