Delta Air Lines flies to roughly 275 destinations across 50 countries from hubs in Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, New York, Los Angeles, Seattle and Boston. Is a Delta gift card locked to flights from the United States?

No. This is the key difference between a Delta card and most airline gift cards. The card is issued in USD, but it is redeemable for any Delta Air Lines flight worldwide — Paris to Tokyo, Amsterdam to Lagos, or a domestic hop in the US — plus any Delta Vacations package that includes airfare. American Airlines and Southwest, by contrast, only fund itineraries originating in the US. If you want an airline card that is not tied to a departure country, this is the one.

What happens if my ticket is priced in euros, yen or another currency?

Delta converts the full value of the card into the ticket currency using the Bankers Rate of Exchange in effect on the date the ticket is issued, and prints that rate on the ticket. You do not lose the balance and you do not need a US card to spend it — the conversion is handled by Delta at booking. Only the denomination you buy from us is fixed in USD.

How do I redeem the code on delta.com?

Search and select your flight on delta.com as normal, then on the payment screen choose Gift Card as a form of payment and enter the card number and PIN from your delivery email. Delta allows up to five forms of payment on a single delta.com transaction, so you can stack several cards and settle any remainder with another method.

Does the balance expire or lose value over time?

No. Delta gift cards never expire and carry no service, dormancy or inactivity fees. A card bought today is worth exactly the same in five years. Any unused balance stays on the card after a partial redemption and can be applied to a later booking.

Can I use it for baggage fees, seat upgrades or Delta Vacations?

The card covers airfare and Delta Vacations packages that include airfare. It is designed as a payment method at booking rather than an à-la-carte wallet, so apply it when you buy the ticket. Ancillary purchases made separately after ticketing (some baggage and upgrade flows) may not accept a gift card — buy the fare and the extras in the same transaction where possible.

Is there a waiting period before I can use the code?

Delta's own terms state that a card may not be redeemed within 72 hours of purchase. In practice the cards we deliver are already past that window, but if you are booking a same-day flight, treat this as the one hard constraint on an otherwise instant product.

Can I give it to someone else, or use it for a passenger who is not me?

Yes. Delta gift cards are bearer instruments — whoever holds the card number and PIN can spend the balance, and there is no requirement that the payer be a passenger on the itinerary. Forward the delivery email, or book the ticket in someone else's name yourself.
