COSMOTE is the largest mobile network in Greece, launched in 1998 and operated today as the consumer brand of OTE Group (Hellenic Telecommunications Organization). OTE has been part of Deutsche Telekom since 2008 — the same group behind T-Mobile — and serves several million prepaid (καρτοκινητό) and contract subscribers across Greece, with the country's deepest 4G/5G footprint and the largest physical retail estate (COSMOTE / Γερμανός stores in every city, kiosks in every village).

Which COSMOTE accounts can use this voucher?

A COSMOTE top-up voucher loads airtime credit onto a COSMOTE prepaid (καρτοκινητό) SIM in Greece — for example, COSMOTE Καρτοκινητή or What's Up. It does not work on COSMOTE postpaid (συμβόλαιο) plans, on COSMOTE Fiber/TV bills, or on any other Greek operator (Vodafone, Nova, etc.). If you're unsure which line you have, dial *1330# on the SIM — prepaid SIMs return a balance, postpaid lines return an error.

How do I redeem the voucher?

Three options, fastest first. (A) USSD: on the COSMOTE prepaid SIM dial *131*VOUCHER# and press call — the voucher number replaces VOUCHER, balance lands within seconds. (B) My COSMOTE app: open the app → Top up → Use voucher → enter the code. (C) Web: sign in to cosmote.gr → My COSMOTE → Top up → enter the voucher code. All three apply to the SIM tied to the account.

What can I spend the airtime on?

The credit is real airtime balance: it covers domestic calls and SMS to any Greek network, mobile data (or you can buy a data add-on package out of the balance via the My COSMOTE app), international calls and SMS at COSMOTE's standard prepaid rates, and roaming usage outside the EU (inside the EU, "roam-like-home" applies on most prepaid plans). You can also use it to renew or upgrade a COSMOTE prepaid bundle (πακέτο) without any extra payment.

How long is the voucher valid? How long does the airtime last?

Two separate clocks. The voucher code we deliver is valid for at least 6 months from issue — redeem it on a SIM before that and the balance transfers in. Once redeemed, the airtime balance stays usable for 12 months from your most recent top-up: as long as you (or anyone else) tops up the same SIM at least once a year, the credit never expires. If a SIM goes 12 months without a top-up, COSMOTE may zero the balance and eventually deactivate the line.

I don't have a COSMOTE prepaid SIM. Can I still use this card?

You'd need a COSMOTE prepaid SIM in order to redeem. They're sold over the counter at any COSMOTE/Γερμανός store across Greece, at thousands of kiosks (περίπτερο), and at supermarkets — typically €5 to €10 with starter credit. Greek law (Ν. 4790/2021) requires ID at activation, so plan for a passport or national-ID at the SIM-purchase step. The voucher you bought from us has nothing to do with that ID step — it loads on whichever prepaid SIM you ultimately activate.

Can I transfer the credit to another SIM or carrier?

No. Once the voucher is redeemed against a specific COSMOTE prepaid SIM, the credit is locked to that line. COSMOTE does not allow balance transfers to other COSMOTE SIMs, to postpaid plans, or to any other Greek carrier. Decide which SIM you want to top up before dialling *131*.

What if the voucher fails to redeem?

Open your order page from the delivery email within 14 days. We re-issue a fresh code or refund the full amount in the original coin you paid in — no forms, no proof of purchase, no questions. Most failures are typos when entering the long code on the keypad; if USSD returns an error, switch to the My COSMOTE app and paste the code instead of typing it.
