About this card
Cold Stone Creamery was founded in Tempe, Arizona in 1988 by Donald and Susan Sutherland, who wanted an ice cream that was neither hard-packed nor soft-serve. What they built instead was a process: premium ice cream at 12 to 14% butterfat, made in the store, scooped onto a frozen granite slab and folded by hand with whatever the customer names — brownies, candy, nuts, fruit, syrups — until it becomes a Creation. The name is literal; the cold stone is the counter. The company is headquartered in Scottsdale and owned by Kahala Brands, part of MTY Food Group.
A gift card here is credit against that whole counter, not a coupon for a single scoop. It covers the three sizes, any number of mix-ins, the signature Creations, shakes and smoothies, cookie sandwiches, pies and — the reason most people buy a bigger card — the ice cream cakes, which are what turns this from a treat into a birthday budget. Order the cake in store, pay from the balance, keep the remainder for the cones that follow.
Buying it here needs no loyalty account and no identity check. You give us a delivery email, pay in the coin you already hold, and the code arrives in about eleven minutes. The balance is drawn down rather than spent all at once, so a $100 card can cover a party in July and still buy a Like It size in September; the remainder simply stays on it.
One constraint deserves plain language. Cold Stone is a franchise chain almost end to end, and the terms say "participating locations" for a reason: independently licensed and co-branded counters — the ones you find in airport terminals, hotel lobbies, university food courts and in shared-counter stores with other Kahala brands — are not all inside the card programme. A neighbourhood creamery is the safe case. So is checking the specific store first if the recipient has only one nearby.
