Bass Pro Shops began in 1972 as a tackle counter at the back of Johnny Morris's father's liquor store in Springfield, Missouri, and grew into outdoor retail's cathedral format: aquariums, waterfalls and taxidermy wrapped around a store that sells rods, reels and terminal tackle, rifles, ammunition and optics, treestands and blinds, tents, coolers and Ascend kayaks, RedHead and XPS apparel, and the boats built by its own White River Marine Group — Tracker, Nitro, Ranger, Sun Tracker, Tahoe.

In 2017 it bought Cabela's and merged the gift-card systems, which is what makes this card worth more than its face suggests. The same balance is tender under both banners: Bass Pro Shops stores, Cabela's stores, basspro.com, cabelas.com and either catalogue. Together that is roughly 180 stores across North America, so the recipient spends at whichever of the two is closer rather than the one printed on the card.

The credit behaves as tender, not as a coupon: it applies after the ticket price, so it stacks with clearance and seasonal markdowns, the remainder stays on the card, and the balance never expires and carries no dormancy or service fee. Bought here it needs no account, no card on file and no identity check — a delivery email, the coin you already hold, and the claim code lands in about eleven minutes once the payment confirms on chain.

Two constraints before you pay. This is a US-dollar card for the US stores and sites; Cabela's Canadian stores and cabelas.ca run on their own currency and will not read it. Is this the same thing as the Cabela's card you sell?

Can I buy a firearm or ammunition with it?

The card pays, but it does not change the paperwork.
